• Jeremiah’s lament

Jeremiah’s lament, 2017, installation.

The artist felt particularly heavy during the days that she spent in Meibei Village. Everyday she heard about slaughter, torture, abuse, and violence, in this deliberately abandoned dusty village is buried countless crying souls. She made some blue water droplets, and hung them in the yard; she repeatedly looked at the water droplets, through which she saw tears. Jeremiah said, “Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!”
