Bald Girls

2012-2022

In 2012, the feminist art collective "Bald Girls" was founded by the German-Chinese curator Juan Xu and artists Jenny Lan, Xiao Lu, and Li Xinmo. Their first exhibition took place at the Iberia Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. Li Xinmo contributed by designing the poster, painting a mural, and exhibiting her series of menstrual blood paintings, including works such as "Memory of Vagina."

In 2014, the "Bald Girls" feminist art exhibition was held at the Women's Museum in Bonn, Germany. Li Xinmo created a mural themed around single mothers titled "Mother" and exhibited another series of menstrual blood paintings also titled "Mother." That same year, the "Pink Solution - BALD GIRLS Art Exhibition" was held in Bogotá, Colombia, in collaboration with three prominent female artists from Latin America. Li Xinmo created portraits of six female artists and presented a performance piece entitled "Rewriting One Hundred Years of Solitude."

In 2022, the 10th anniversary of "Bald Girls" was celebrated in Düsseldorf, Germany, where Li Xinmo showcased her latest work, "Daydream," created in collaboration with AI.
