Green Book

Paper, Ballpoint pen,19 cm x 26 cm 2023-2018

Li Xinmo:This series of works began with my painting creation in Germany in 2013, which is the predecessor of the "Daydream" AI series. These works were created with a ballpoint pen on paper, and I selected twelve green works to constitute the "Green Book" series. In these paintings, I unfold my imagination, trying to break the boundary between human and nature, combining characters, animals, and plants to create bizarre images.

In ancient mythology, the image of gods often integrates the characteristics of humans and animals, symbolizing a superhuman power. In my paintings, most of the images have distinct female physical characteristics. They are like women from another world or new goddesses, full of immense energy and power, quite different from the images of goddesses in ancient Greek mythology.

Subsequently, I used artificial intelligence technology to recreate these images, transforming these ancient and bizarre goddesses into alternative goddesses with characteristics of the technological era. They are mysterious and full of exotic features, blending primitive and contemporary traits, a combination of mythology and technology.

It can be said that in these works, I attempt to explore and create new myths in the post-human era. This series of works reflects my imagination of the future world and my reflection on the reconstruction of the relationship between human and nature, as well as human and science.

Zhong Ting:These works blur boundaries between human beings, non-human beings, and the natural world through the lens of animism. The artist seeks deep integration of spirit, soul, body, and non-human species in the interconnection of all things in nature. She tries to arouse people's "sense of empathy" for plants and animals while realizing self-healing.

Throughout this artwork, we can observe the confrontation between humanity and divinity, the vitality of sexuality on the edge of life and death, sexual violence, and the disempowerment of women's bodies, along with many other issues, including the occupation of women's minds and bodies by the primitive fertility cult and the lie of fertility in the guise of modern technology.
