In hairdressers or stores selling wigs, there are many heads of female models made of silicone or plastic, which are basically topped with long hair. Long hair seemed to be the most important feature of women. Here, Li Xinmo cuts off the hair of these models and turns them into bald girls. This work was also created for the "Bald Girls" feminist art exhibition held at the Iberia Contemporary Art Space in 2002. The image of these girls with their hair shaved off is a rebellion against the stereotype of women, and a confirmation of the identity of the female subject and female self-identity.
