In May 2013, Li Xinmo participated in “Single Mother,” an exhibition held at the Women's Museum in Bonn. In her performance Love Is Colder than Death, she walked up to the audience and asked, “Do you want to kill me?” Each time an audience member replied, she made a cut in her dress until it was covered with cuts. She then tore the dress into pieces, leaving herself nude. The fragments were assembled into the form of a child, which she carried outside and placed in the center of the yard.
